[As taken aback as Kirk is, he's still dancing because he's also enjoying it. Or maybe it's the simple act of being physically close to Vander again that's not stopping him. He huffs out a laugh]

I suppose it could be worse.

[He already considered that this was making progress. The fact that Kirk was still tolerating dancing around the lab with no music and still at ease about the whole thing.]

Yeah, I could make you dress up and actually have fun. What torment, right?

[There's just the smallest smile of amusement Kirk makes. Vander is too good at breaking down his emotional guards]

Yes. How awful to do that to a friend.

[He suddenly moved to dip Kirk down towards the floor, smile on his lips.]

You'll defriend me afterwards no doubt. You can post a sign on the front door saying 'no fun allowed'.

[Kirk's grip on Vander remains steady as the larger man dips him. In return, he kisses him on the cheek]

Yes, of course. I'm sure Hernan will enjoy that too.

[Oh, what's this? Kirk was in such a good mood now that the other man was displaying open physical affection? He knew he had skills. He smirked and kissed Kirk on the forehead soon after.]

I'm surprised he hasn't already posted one. So, you'll go out on the town with me at least one night? Fun, games, revelry? Maybe some good music, slipping into a place or two we shouldn't?

[Kirk arches an eyebrow and looks amused]

Interesting way to ask someone out.

[He gives a peck on the lips]

Fine. One night. An experiment to see how this goes for us.

If I didn't, you'd be a recluse who only joined the world if Hernan made you or a hapless deer was wandering by.

[He smiled, pleased that Kirk was going to let him drag the other man out. Now, he had to plan for it to be fun. He stood them both up again.]

Fine, we should do this before the next mission. Just in case.

[Kirk nods]

It'll need to be soon. Depending on the mission, we might not have much room to think about...

[Kirk almost fumbles the next word because of how strange it sounds coming from him]

Dating. Unless we count me biting you again because I don't have enough resources again.

[There was a slow smile curling Vander's lips as Kirk seemed to stumble over a relatively simple word. He pulled them back into a low commitment dance, mostly just swaying on the spot.]

How right you are. I guess we'll have to set a date soon, won't we? What's your schedule looking like?

[He shrugged at the idea of biting. He should save his blood volume for the mission so he was more useful for Kirk if it came to a denial of resources again.]

We save biting for the mission so you can take more without making me tired.

[Kirk continues to sway with Vander. It was comforting and he enjoyed taking in the other man's warmth]

I guess any night or day works for me. I'm okay with saving the biting for the next mission.

[His smile remained as they swayed. He appreciated buoying Kirk's mood, especially after the heavy topic that had brought him over in the first place.]

It's a night on the town, Kirk. We'll leave the day alone. How about just after mission announcement? We'll have time to prep but also we can have fun playing around.

[Kirk nods. He presses himself against Vander as they keep dancing]

That's fine. It's... a date then.

[He leaned in so that he could rest their foreheads together.]

Yeah, it's a date. Better prepare yourself for a night of fun, okay?

[Kirk looks up at Vander with shy look. Maybe he should ask Hernan on what he should do on a date...]

Ah... I will.

[He could practically see the wheels turning in Kirk's head. It clearly had been awhile for the other man.]

Good, and don't overthink it, Lamprey. It's for fun, remember?

[Kirk nods though, yes. The wheels in his head are still turning]

For fun. Right. I'll try not to overthink it.

[Though it's a lot easier said than done for a socially awkward introvert scientist]

[He nodded his head slowly, aware that Kirk was going to overthink it. That's just the other man's nature, and Kirk was clearly rusty when it came to having an actual good time out and about.]

I appreciate the effort.

[He kissed Kirk's forehead and stopped their swaying, slowly releasing Kirk while also observing if the other man may not want to stop.]

[Kirk slows down with Vander. However, his hands continue to linger onto the older man, as is the rest of us body]

This was nice.

[He slid his arms around Kirk's waist and stepped up again. He nodded his head.]

It ended nicely. I think it was a rough start for you. Thank you again for trusting me with that information.

[Kirk gives another peck on the lips]

Thank you for listening.

[Especially as Vander is the first non-Justice League person to know the details of how Kirk was betrayed]

You're welcome. There's nothing I can do to make up for what you've been through, but I'll support you in whatever you need, Kirk.

[He leaned in for a longer and deeper kiss. It was meant to be supportive, but he was very aware it was more than that.]

[Kirk kisses back and decides to let himself get lost in the physical pleasure. Just a pause from thinking about things like vampirism, blood, betrayal, and grief. Vander’s embrace feels good and seems less complicated for now.

He wraps his arms around Vander’s torso]

[He lingered in the kiss as Kirk leaned into it as well, letting them enjoy the simplicity of physical closeness. His fingers massage the small of Kirk's back as he felt those arms around him, and he waited for Kirk to provide him a bruising hug.

He nibbled on Kirk's lower lip in a teasing manner, mimicking a fake bite.]

[Kirk softly hums in pleasure as Vander massages and nibbles him. He keeps pressing himself onto him, drinking in his warmth]
